Introduction to me, your Lt Mowgli

Howdy Y'all!

I am Lt. Mowgli!

Thank you so much checkin' out my blog. I am greatly honored that you took time out of your day to read my personal thoughts. After life's happenings and technical difficulties, I'm finally here posting.

A special shout out to my best friend on earth, my fellow Japanophile friend, La Tenoli, for all her help and assistance. Check out her blog and obtain great Japan related information and events in NYC here: http://tenoli.blogspot.com/

For starters, this is the lyrical hotness, my music blog. I will do my best to cover the latest and greatest of music charts of the American charts, from hip-hop and R&B to pop to rock to alternative, indie, etc. However, I would also like to discuss international music, ranging from Japanese pop to Spanish salsa to African rhythms. I will try to speak to you about whatever music I encounter randomly in life or that am feeling at the moment .

Music has to ability to make feel various emotions and express exactly how we feel inside when we cannot describe the words ourselves. This is precisely why I love it so much. From birth, we listen to the beat of our mothers' hearts and we grow, moving to our personal rhythm and beat. While many think other various elements of life as important, music keeps us going forward through our daily activities in some way, expressing the emotions of our hearts and souls.

Now a little bit about me. Why read me if you do not know me?" Let's make a connection!

To begin, why adopt the name "Lt. Mowgli"? Yes, I am not an actual lieutenant nor is my name Mowgli. As a child, my favorite toy was GI Joe. I wanted to be a noble and strong man, the hero. Later in life, I came to love the character, Lt. Dangle, from the TV series, Reno 911, who possess amazing swagger and masculinity to me. Thus, I have the "Lt.". The "Mowgli" came from the character of the popular story, the Jungle Book. It's a reference to my physical, African jungle-like appearance and attitude (Though I am completely aware that the Mowgli should be of Indian descent or something close to that in the actual story). Putting the names together, my alter-ego is officially named, Lt. Mowgli!

Some more quick info about myself! Check my flow yo (I'll perform this live for you 1 day*Oh didnt I mention? I'm into poetry, spoken word and acting*):

"I'm a Libra, recent university graduate (Japanese Language Major/Psychology minor), a brother, a son, friend, best friend, the bestest friend you'll ever have if you get that close to me, a foe (to some peeps- not everyone can love you unfortunately :(. Aww well lol), student of life, hard worker, an urban southerner rival, teacher, model, dancer, drummer, lover and fighter,.... I shine like the sun and am as deep as the darkness of night. An angel and sinner in 1 being. Sane and insane in the membrane. Fun. quiet. Plain Crazy. "Out there". Awkward. Shy. Loud. ever so HUNGRY, amorous (naughty, naughty lol). "Hyper-Emo"! Yes, I cry then 5 minutes later I laugh at why. Many say I'm the koolest while others think "weird, so weird" lol. An underdog prince. Different. "It's all inside" me like JC Penny ;). I'm a poet and I know it and so beautiful goddamnit. A solider of Open-mindedness and awesome wonder- Young Mowgli, the Lieutenant. So love me or not, I'll always be so freakin hot! ;P"
